Our Story
Jay S. Straka grew up dreaming of owning his own printing company. When Mr. Straka was in the eighth grade, the school newspaper's caricature of "Downtown Main Street" exhibited "Jay's Print Shop".
With his early fascination for printing, Mr. Straka pursued various jobs and internships in the printing industry throughout his youth. He went to college and obtained degrees in printing management and business. After college, Mr. Straka began his career in printing sales for a large, well regarded printing company. In this position he was highly accomplished.
In February of 1980, with his career on the fast track and three kids at home, Mr. Straka decided it was time to take the next step in pursuit of his dream. Taking a second mortgage on his home, Mr. Straka purchased a small printing press, leased 2,000 square feet of space and hired one pressman. Mr. Straka personally sold by day and ran the press by night.
